In the past few months, I have been cooking something very different from my usual dishes.
Since the ingredients were completely new to me, it took a lot of trial and error to put together the recipe I had in mind.
The main ingredient was work, countless hours of work, which I did together with my very patient and skilled husband. But to achieve my goal it also took determination, learning new skills, and buying equipment, tableware, tablecloths, and other props without breaking the bank.
A worthwhile effort, since it returned the great satisfaction of holding in my hands my very own cookbook!
I love to call my cookbook “The silver lining of the pandemic” because the excitement of creating it not only motivated me to get up in the morning when the return to normal life seemed unattainable, but it also kept my mind in motion, and spurred my creativity.
I cooked dishes that I hadn’t made in years, challenging my abilities but, at the same time, being rewarded with eating the very same foods that I prepared.
